Laundry, Laundry, Laundry -- we wash clothes all the time while we're home (at least, so it seems)! And with all of that laundry, those little sock gremlins are fast at work at our house.
My WFMW tip is to safety pin pairs of socks together (not DH's white socks that he has a dozen pairs of, but my dress socks, and those itsy, bitsy infant and toddler socks that can get lost in the sleeve or footie of a sleeper and not be found for days, weeks, or maybe even until the next child comes along!).
Safety pinning matching socks together right as they are taken off and put into the hamper or dirty laundry pile makes sure that our socks stay together through the washer, through the dryer, and all of the way up until they are put on again!! Woo Hoo!! That works for me, because I have better things to do than sort socks and try to find the missing ones . . . *Ü*
DH usually has several pins on the cuff of his sleeve (from dressing either Miss M or Mr J), and when people that see him ask, he tells them why they're there and everyone comments, "What a great idea!"

Your kids are absolutely adorable!! In answer to your question: you can find the sign for diaper here: http://www.aslpro.com/cgi-bin/aslpro/aslpro.cgi
And if you ever buy "Baby Signing Time" they have a whole (adorable) "diaper dance" :)
We only buy socks in 2 colors so we never have to deal with matching them up again!
